Professional Experience
Her early professional experience in Pennsylvania included working in the role of a group counselor at a residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed children and treating children and adults in a private outpatient therapy center. She worked as a senior mental health clinician in an adult inpatient psychiatric unit at the Behavioral Health Center of Rutgers Medical School. While working there, she opened her private practice in Somerville in 1982.
While working in Pennsylvania and later in New Jersey she helped workers and their families cope with their problems with a referral from their Employee Assistance Program. She was one of the first therapists to be certified in 1987 as an employee assistance counselor. Over the years she has worked with dozens of EAP programs throughout the country helping their employees and family members individually. She also serviced companies and their employees during critical incidences in the workplaces such as deaths at work, layoffs, bank robberies, and coping with the aftermath of September 11, 2001.
She continues to work with clients through their EAP benefit, through their medical insurance, or through the more recent WPO (workplace organizations focusing on behavioral health issues).
