About This Therapist
Marilyn Blacher-Reich has over 45 years of professional experience. Her practice recently had offices is both Somerville and East Brunswick. She served Central Jersey exclusively. With the use of telehealth services during the Pandemic, her service area expanded to anyone residing in the State of New Jersey. Most recently, her practice is completely virtual.
This Therapist:
Believes that brief or long- term psychotherapy is a joint process. She will work together with you to find solutions to the issues which brought you into treatment.
She will seek to learn about how your past experiences may have affected your current circumstances. She will ask what has and has not worked to solve your problems in the past. What has once worked to improve a difficult circumstance may no longer be effective. With this therapist you will find new and productive pathways to cope with your present concerns.
Clients are impacted by events in their personal, work, their school, and family life. Events in the country and in the world can create feelings of distress. These events can place a dark cloud over what is already troubling the client.
Education
Ms. Blacher-Reich graduated from Lehigh University with a double major in Psychology and Sociology. She was one of the first 100 women to attend the University all four years. She earned her Master of Arts degree from The University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration with a focus on family, individual, and group psychotherapy. She participates in continuing education to maintain her certifications and to keeps abreast of the latest research which she can share with her clients.
